Is my child too ill for school? Health protection & incubation period

COVID-19 GUIDANCE - Any child with a fever or continuous cough or loss of taste/smell should NOT come to school, the school should be notified asap and government guidance followed:

IS MY CHILD TOO SICK FOR SCHOOL?
 
It is tricky to know whether your child is too unwell to come to school.  
 
The NHS have a great website for helping you to decide whether your child should be in school: 
 
 
GENERAL GUIDANCE
 
  • FEVER:  A child should not come to school if they have a fever of 38 C or above (and must get a covid test).  
  • VOMITING/DIARRHEA:  A child should not return to school until after 48 hours after the last incident.


A CHILD CAN COME TO SCHOOL WHEN
 
They have a runny nose or mild cold symptoms or sore throats WITHOUT a fever. 

 
INCUBATION PERIODS FOR SPECIFIC ILLNESSES:

HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT  
 
As a school, we have a responsibility to keep our pupils safe. Part of this includes providing a healthy environment. 
 
Please see the link below from Public Health England which gives you a clear picture of our responsibilities in the event of certain infectious diseases, e.g. scarlet fever, being reported in school. 
 
 
Covid:  On 09/09/2020 Bristol City Council Health & Safety advisor assessed our risk assessment and premises.  We are pleased to report that we have been graded as COVID compliant.
